The impact of English and Trial HSC on your ATAR
HSC: Posted 21-6-15 Deadline - No Deadline
English is the most important of the HSC subjects as it has the greatest impact on your ATAR score. Irrespective of how well or how badly you perform in your English exams and assessments, UAC must use your best two units of English to calculate your ATAR. Students should therefore be giving this subject as much attention as possible if they are wanting to maximise ATAR scores. This is particularly relevant if you have more than 10 units. If you have chosen to do only 10 units, obviously all will contribute to your HSC marks and therefore your ATAR. The Trial HSC exams will contribute to your assessment mark in most subjects so the more preparation in revising, summarising and doing practice exam questions, then the better your final result in December will be. As Trial HSC marks and reports are also used in early entry and scholarship applications, this is another reason why the next 5 weeks are very very important.
