Canberra Institute of Technology sent this: An apprenticeship provides a pathway to an interesting and lucrative career and builds a good foundation should you wish to go on to further study. Many of our newly qualified electricians and plumbers earn salaries of $80,000 or more on completion of their course Ė and double that if they work overseas! CIT is currently offering pre-apprenticeship programs in both electrotechnology and plumbing. You can complete these programs by attending CIT for one day a week (8am to 5pm). Electrotechnology classes start in the week beginning July 20 at our Bruce Campus and Plumbing classes start in the week beginning July 27 at the Fyshwick Trade Skills Centre. If these dates donít suit, fear not, both courses will be offered in February 2010. You do not need an employer to enrol. Most students are able to get an apprenticeship on completion of the program.
