Have you got a Tax File Number????
General: Posted 17-9-10 Deadline - No Deadline
The Australian Taxation Office has sent this: We are seeking your assistance in providing potential school leavers with the opportunity to apply for a tax file number (TFN) while still at school.A TFN is essential for employment, deferring university fees or applying for Centrelink benefits.
Most students will need a TFN when they leave school, whether leaving early or completing Year 12, and it is much simpler for them to apply through the school TFN program.
We would appreciate it if you could inform any potential school leavers about the advantage of using this program and encourage them to apply for a TFN before they leave school. TFN application forms for your school leavers are available through your school’s TFN co-ordinator. See Mrs Forrest for the form asap.

Are you 18? Have you enrolled to vote?
General: Posted 13-7-10 Deadline - No Deadline
The Australian Electoral Commission reports that 70 per cent of voters missing from the roll are aged 18-39. In 2007, more than 100,000 voters missed out because they weren’t on the roll or had changed their address. These 100,000 people had no chance to take part, no chance to let politicians know what their priorities were. To ensure you are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections, follow the advice in the link below. Enjoy your holiday.

Where to from here for Year 12 students?
General: Posted 28-5-10 Deadline - No Deadline
It is pleasing to see and hear how many Year 12s have made choices concerning which courses and which universities they are interested in applying for during Term3. That is the easy part. Now the focus should be on applying yourself to your studies, your assessment tasks, summaries of topics, major works to give yourself the best chance you have of getting into your desired course either by getting the ATAR needed or by being successful in an early entry application. Some students are using study periods wisely and well but unfortunately there are some that are not.
