Bachelor of Psychological Science - Newcastle
Universities: Posted 14-9-17 Deadline - No Deadline
Psychology at UON has had a name change. The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is no longer open to new students, and instead, from 2018 new students will be able to apply for entry to a Bachelor of Psychological Science. The reason for this change is to ensure that our future students understand their study options and to bring UON in line with other psychology degrees available around the country. Students will now apply to gain entry into the Bachelor of Psychological Science, a 3-year degree available at both the Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses. After successfully completing the 3-year undergraduate degree, students will have the option of graduating and entering the workforce or applying to study Honours (requires a GPA of 5 or above). Again, after successfully completing the Honours year (and with a GPA of 6 or above), students have the option to graduate or can go on to do further specialist study at a Masters level (required for careers such as a Clinical Psychologist). Below is an example of the structure and the points at which students can graduate. The Bachelor of Psychological Science provides students a variety of career opportunities across many industries. Below are some examples of career opportunities for each level of study within the area of psychology.

Want to go to UNSW??????? VERY IMPORTANT
Early Entry schemes: Posted 28-8-17 Deadline - No Deadline
The UNSW Gateway scheme recognises that schools have different levels of educational advantage and therefore some students experience more disadvantage than others. This means that a student’s ATAR may not accurately reflect their ability to achieve at university. The UNSW Gateway Scheme applies an evidence-based approach which makes the pathway to a degree at UNSW more equitable for students from low-socio economic backgrounds and regional areas. The UNSW Gateway Scheme automatically applies an adjusted selection rank to students who have attended Gateway eligible schools in NSW. If your ATAR falls within ten points of the Guaranteed Entry rank for UNSW degrees where the cut off is 90 or below, and you order your preferences in a way that allows you to receive an offer, Gateway will automatically adjust your selection rank.
